Why visit the Central Highlands?

This area of Scotland is about the dramatic landscapes, lochs and glens.  The Highlands also host  a wealth of foliage and wildlife.

The mountains have made superb defensive fortresses for millennia and the area is dotted with incredible castles and historic buildings, built to defend the land from the English, the Vikings, and others.

Beneath the mountains, the fertile farmlands are prime barley growing land, ideal for the malt whiskies that characterise the Highlands and Speyside.
